MJ has spent the past few decades working with a variety of people in a number of industries. She cut her teeth on the trading floor of a major investment bank, took her skill set to a leading law firm, spent some years in recruitment, dipped her toe into human resources in the film industry, extended that experience in finance, then settled back into senior assistant roles working with CEOs and Chairs of companies in the infrastructure, insurance, mining and real estate/retail sectors.
board-assist is MJ’s brainchild. As the sole parent of a very young daughter, MJ had an incredibly busy role within a global team. It was during this time that the seeds for board-assist were sewn. Assisting a CEO predominantly remotely {over 70% of his time was spent travelling internationally} confirmed for MJ that being in the same geographic location isn’t necessary to enjoy a very successful work partnership!
Over the years, MJ has volunteered her time with different charities – both fundraising and in the field {or fields as it were}. She loves spending time with her daughter and dogs, and for fun she cooks, writes, reads and rescues pieces of furniture headed for landfill to upcycle them.
